Back to Snaefells: from imagination to science
Snaefellsjökull is one of Iceland's most famous volcanoes. It is topped by a glacier that gives it its distinctive shape. Its name means "mountain of snow". A true icon of the country, much represented by painters, it is cited in G.I.E.C. reports because of the melting of its summital glacier. Prophetically, Jules Verne made it the gateway to his "Journey to the Center of the Earth". The aim of this project is to extend the fictional and temporal axis of Jules Verne's story by combining the imaging techniques of muography (particle physics) with photography. By creating an in-and-out device in the landscape, the aim is to create a space of friction and narrative for the Anthropocene.
Exhibition presented at the Musée Jules Verne, Nantes, in collaboration with the IP2i laboratory in Lyon.
