Anna

I embarked on a 108-meter-long ro-ro vessel: Anna. Starting from Hamburg, our crew sailed to Ålesund off the coast of Denmark. I wanted to approach Norway, the land of the Vickings, by sea, and share in the destiny of this people who had to take to the sea to resist hostile nature. On "Anna", I was the only passenger. The freighter, a container ship, is a factory that operates 24 hours a day. It calls at industrial ports for a few hours at a time, depending on freight requirements. The rhythm of the sailors' lives and sleep is completely linked to the ship's progress and its commercial mission. For a passenger, there's nothing to do. Just watch.
